With Valentine’s Day only 6 days away, it would seem slightly odd if I didn’t address it. Although I’m now in a serious long term relationship, I still remember the awkwardness and confusion of Valentine’s Day cropping up when you’re either new to a relationship or still dating. It makes for a horrendously awkward moment if you misread the signs so instead, you spend your time massively over thinking the situation in the hope that you won’t make a fool of yourself! Luckily though, you no longer need to worry – retailers have clocked on and have started to offer some great new age cards to get us through this difficult time (hooray!!).
For when the L word hasn’t been offered up yet.
For a lot of people this is the biggest issue. You go into any high street card shop in the run up to Valentine’s Day and they’re filled with over the top, sickly messages that make even the most loved up couples nauseous. Personally, I have never wanted to express my “love” for someone in poem form, nor (I am pretty sure) will I ever. Fear not, there are some excellent options out there for you! My favourites include…

Paperchase, £2.50.
For the 21st Century couple
Alternatively, you might want to show the other person how much you care for them but hate the idea of a gushy card. Look no further…

Paperchase, £2.50.
Embrace the situation with humour
Even the fully committed folk out there struggle with expressing their feelings sometimes. I love the option of embracing this with a bit of light humour. Who better to better to bring up during this time than Kayne himself!

Paperchase, £2.50.
The other option which I wouldn’t necessarily suggest…
Get the awkwardness out in the open!
As you can see there’s something out there for everyone! Most of these cards came from Paperchase so it’s well worth checking out their selection Online or in stores.
Hope this helps you avoid the dreaded Valentine’s Day blushes of sending someone a card they’re not quite ready to receive!

love the bottom one!! I need a daft one for my partner but something abit more stupid haha! x
I love these types of cards! I’m really not very romantic and always opt for a jokey card over a mushy one! I’m actually gonna get the last one, it sums up my situation perfectly!
