Favourite Fragrances

Following the Christmas period, my life is full of fragrances – new and old. Previously, I’ve always been a monogamous one fragrance at a time kind of girl, but after receiving so many wonderful new scents this Christmas, I’ll admit, I’ve been mixing it up a bit with which fragrance I choose to wear on a daily basis. On top of this I’ve also stumbled across a new deodorant which has quickly become one of my all time favourite smells so it’s getting harder to select a combination what to wear every day.

Fragrance Collage

Personally, I prefer fragrances not too sweet or fruity but as I’m sure you’re aware, it’s really difficult to explain a smell so my advice would be to note down these fragrances and pop into your nearest department store and try them for yourself! Also, a handy tip – in between smelling perfumes/cologne you should sniff your sleeve to neutralise your nose so you don’t get overwhelmed with all those different smells!

From top right:

Prada Amber Eau de Parfum– I’ve been using this perfume since University. It was actually a birthday present but after running out in second year, I struggled to find this in stores again as I think they’ve slightly changed it. However, my parents managed to find it whilst in the Isle of Man earlier in the year and surprised me with it.

Its smell is quite distinct. It’s one of those love it or hate it fragrances but luckily for me, I’ve had more compliments for it! Once the smell settles, it’s got quite a deep, musky fragrance which is what I love so much about it, but it’s not for everyone. Try before you buy and let it settle on your skin/clothes for a while before you make a decision!

Miss Dior Eau de Toilette – One of the most popular fragrances in my collection. Lots of my friends also have this perfume, which isn’t surprising as it’s such a fresh and broad appeal smell. Another reason to purchase would be the well designed bottle with cute bow on the lid which I’m always drawn to. The other benefit is the size. It’s perfect (at 50ml) to fit in your handbag to use at varying points during the day.

As you might be able to tell from the pictures, I’m almost out of mine so I’ll be re-purchasing this fragrance soon as I’m now absolutely hooked on the smell!

Diesel Fuel for Life Eau de Parfum – This was a Christmas present but I also used to wear it in my last few years at school so it reminds me of some really good times. It has a timeless scent and I love the netting round the bottle – you can also take this off if you prefer. I usually wear this to work as it’s a great day scent but I also feel just as comfortable wearing it out to dinner or for a girls night!

Bvlgari Jasmine Noir Eau de Toilette  – This miniature actually came as part of a set but was my favourite of all the Bvlgari perfumes in the collection. It also comes with a little material bow tied around the neck of the bottle but I’m pretty sure I lost it the first time I used it!

The smell is definitely an evening smell as it’s quite a grown up fragrance, but as it’s so small it’s also great to keep in your handbag to take you from day to night!

Carolina Herrera 212 Sexy Eau de Parfum – This is another fragrance I’ve had before. The bottle is quite unconventional with the two ends coming off to give two bottles available to use – although I don’t think I’d ever carry these separately as I’d be too worried they’d leak! This is definitely the sweetest of all my fragrances however, for me it’s the perfect side of sweet making it more fresh than sickly sweet.

Before I finish his post, as I mentioned above, I also have a new favourite deodorant which is a slightly weird thing to recommend but once you get over that you’ll be pleased you went and tried it – the smell is AMAZING!

212 Sexy is amazing! And I like that deo too! Altho for the price that you pay for it, I prefer to use Soft and Gentle as £2.39 is just abit pricy. Have you tried Fuel for Life Unlimited? That’s really nice. Great to find someone with a similar taste in scent, thank you for posting 🙂 xx

I’m glad you also approve! I’m so fussy when it comes to scents it makes it really difficult when I’m shopping for myself!
I haven’t tried the Unlimited one – will give that one a smell when I’m next out. 🙂
