It’s been a crazy few weeks. Things seem to have got somewhat quieter finally, which means I have some time to share a few of the highlights in a series of posts.
London Fashion Week
I was lucky enough to get a ticket to Sibling. This was my first experience at a London Fashion Week show. A ticket with a space on a row, designated for my behind – the thing dreams are made of. To be honest, it was all very surreal. Queuing pre-show while a whole host of people with cameras snap away at your attire, permission unobtained. This was followed by a steep climb up a car park slope which was as glamourous as I describe (thank God I didn’t wear heels). It wasn’t until I stepped into the large open white space; filled with an imposing catwalk, paparazzi and a buzz of energy quite indescribable, that I finally understood. I understood the incomparable excitement of Fashion Week.
The show was captivating. The collection showcased an array of fabrics which blended styles seamlessly. Colour entwined the pieces in a youthful way, elevated by a perfectly succinct playlist. The models were made up with barely there eye make up, juxtaposed by bold, glossy, intense lips. The overall feel of Sibling was characteristically androgynous, complete with daring accessories and overflowing with personality.
Let me know your thoughts on Sibling and other London Fashion Week shows.
